  I'm in town on a work project and wanted a gathering within walking distance of my hotel. Downtown Hope Church offered a compelling web site with well articulated information about their beliefs and the experience.
  
  Positives: The location is appealing. I really liked the layout of the worship space, with the large windows and street view as the stage backdrop. The street and sky where the stage decor. Too often (at least in my experience) in contemporary style worship the stage special effects create the impression of entertainment rather than a worship experience. I liked the simplicity. Mixture of traditional and contemporary music was nice. The message was interesting, filled with good insight and inspiration, but the presentation was scattered and lacked focus. The crowd was younger adults and families. with a scattering of people closer to my age.
  
  Negatives: No one greeted me entering or leaving, or even during the meet and great portion of the worship service. I stood awkwardly staring at peoples backs as they greeted friends. While the music was well performed a couple of the songs where pitched in a vocal range comfortable for the stage singer, but not the worshipers. When the music was in a comfortable vocal range a lot of people were singing.
  
  If I lived in the area I would definately check out Downtown Hope a second and third time
